About Mohammad Reza Kheradmandan

Born in 1984 in Shiraz, Iran, Mohammad Reza Kheradmandan is a distinguished filmmaker renowned for his contributions to Iranian cinema. A graduate of the IRIB University with a degree in film directing, he has an extensive portfolio that includes short films, feature films, and television series.​

Notable Works:

  • Guardian of the Field” (Natoor-e Dasht) (2025): Tells the story of Ahmad Piran, a respected village elder who postpones attending his son’s important sports competition to lead a desperate search for a missing girl in his community. In the process, he confronts hidden dangers and moral dilemmas. Natoor-e Dasht (Guardian of the Field) won the Crystal Simorgh for Best National Film at the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival in 2025.
  • “21 Days Later” (2017): Kheradmandan’s debut feature film, which won the Audience Award at the 35th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran.
  • Thursday Appointment” (2019): A poignant short film that garnered international acclaim for its storytelling and emotional depth.
  • Father” (2020): An award-winning animated short highlighting the essence of fatherhood.

In addition to his filmmaking achievements, Kheradmandan has directed popular Iranian TV series such as “From Destiny” (“Az Sarnevesht”) and “Beautiful Mind” (“Zehn-e Ziba”), showcasing his versatility across different media formats. ​
